Monument to fishermen

In Avinguda de Rhode, right opposite the Tourist Office. This monument is crowned by the sculpture of this name made of leaded glass. Constructed in 1990 by the sculptor Domènec Fita and dedicated to all seafaring folk.


Washingtonia Palm tree and Tamarisk

One rises up projecting up amongst the other date palms behind the Monument to Fishermen, while the other is inside a house on the seafront promenade facing Rastrell beach.

Roman anchor

Facing Plaça Catalunya we find this Roman anchor with the original lead stock. It was restored during the winter of 1998-99.


Artillery cannons

Right on Roses beach, past Ginjolars stream, we find these two pieces of naval artillery dating from the 18th century and found by Mr Francesc Falcó.
 


Plaque in homage to the writer Josep Pla

Right between the two artillery cannons facing Roses' main beach. On it we can read some words penned by the writer in praise of Roses' sunsets.

Esperança anchor

 Facing Perola beach and under the shade of the palm trees we can see this anchor covered in plant fibre, cast into the sea before 1820. It was discovered by the Roses boat Pepito.


Roses bay monument

At Carrer Nou number 1. Made in 1990 by the local artists Narcís Costa (sculptor) and Martí Vesgoñós (painter). It depicts a panoramic view of Roses bay with a North-wind sky.
